How to share Codex generated HTML
Codex wrote the page into your working folder and hands you a path, not a link; its own way out is Sites, a beta on paid ChatGPT plans. Connect Birta once and the HTML gets an address you own: your domain, your choice of who opens it, the same link after every edit.

What Codex gives you today
In the folder: a page with a path
Codex writes index.html where it works. The desktop app previews it, interactive for .html files; the CLI has no visual preview at all.
Sites: a deployment inside ChatGPT
Codex can deploy the project with Sites, in public beta on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu. Who opens it depends on the access level the site is given.
Connect Codex to Birta once
Give Codex a place to publish the page it already has.
- 1
Add Birta in the terminal
codex mcp add birta -- npx -y @birta/cli mcpRun this once. Codex keeps it in one config, shared by the app, the CLI and the IDE extension. It needs Node.js 20 or newer; nothing else to install.
- 2
No terminal? Use the app
In the Codex app the same server goes in through Settings, then MCP servers, then Add server. Or add it to ~/.codex/config.toml by hand.
- 3
Ask once, confirm once
The first request that needs your account returns a link. Open it, sign in with a one-time code from your email or with Google, and repeat the request. No key to copy.
Then ask Codex to publish
Copy this into the conversation where Codex made your page.
Publish the HTML page you just made as a site on Birta. Create a project named "Pricing calculator", put the page into index.html with its CSS and JavaScript, publish it, and give me the live link.
- published, version 1
- here is the live link: pricing-calculator.birta.link
Share it. Keep making it better.
Tell Codex what to change. It publishes again to the same address.
Same URL after edits
Each change is a new version on the same address. Every version is kept, rollback is one step.
Only certain people
Close version links to everyone but the people you add. They sign in and leave remarks on the page.
A few good questions
Give your page an address.
