Connect ChatGPT

ChatGPT on the web can use Birta as a remote MCP connection in developer mode. Availability depends on your account and your workspace's policy; if the controls below are missing, use another supported tool or ask the workspace administrator.

  1. 1. Turn on developer mode

    Open ChatGPT → Settings → Security and login, then turn on Developer mode. A managed workspace can restrict this setting.

  2. 2. Add the Birta MCP connection

    Open ChatGPT Plugins, select the plus button, and enter a name and description. Under Connection, choose the public MCP server option and paste this full URL, including /mcp:

    Create the connection, then review the tools ChatGPT discovers before you use it.

  3. 3. Allow access

    The first time ChatGPT uses the connection, it opens Birta in your browser. Sign in — with the one-time code sent to your email or with your Google account — then allow access. ChatGPT keeps its own access after that and connects on its own — there is no key to copy or paste.

  4. 4. How it works

    ChatGPT works on a draft of your site: it writes the pages file by file, starting from scratch or from a copy of a version you already published. Nothing reaches your site address while it does, which keeps serving the version you published last and shows nothing at all until the first one.

    ChatGPT publishes the draft itself once it considers the work done — you do not have to give it the go-ahead. It comes back with two addresses: your site address, which is the live site, and that version's own address, where you mark what you want changed straight on the page.

    Tell ChatGPT what to change, or leave remarks on the version's page and say you have — it makes the changes and publishes the next version.

    Want to look before it goes live? Say so — ask ChatGPT for a draft first and it gives you the draft's own address and waits for your word. The draft keeps that address round after round, so you refresh the page you already have open.

  5. 5. Use it and check

    In a new conversation, add Birta from the tools menu, then ask ChatGPT to list your Birta projects. If it can see them, the connection is ready.
