Connect Grok
Grok uses Birta as a custom connector: an address you add once at grok.com. Connectors are available to all Grok users. In a Business or Enterprise workspace an administrator adds the connector first, and everyone else connects to it.
1. Open connectors in Grok
Go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom.
2. Add the Birta connection
Name it Birta and paste this address as the MCP server URL:
https://birta.dev/mcpSave it, and Grok lists the tools it found before you use them.
3. Allow access
The first time Grok uses the connection, it opens Birta in your browser. Sign in — with the one-time code sent to your email or with your Google account — then allow access. Grok keeps its own access after that and connects on its own — there is no key to copy or paste.
4. How it works
Grok works on a draft of your site: it writes the pages file by file, starting from scratch or from a copy of a version you already published. Nothing reaches your site address while it does, which keeps serving the version you published last and shows nothing at all until the first one.
Grok publishes the draft itself once it considers the work done — you do not have to give it the go-ahead. It comes back with two addresses: your site address, which is the live site, and that version's own address, where you mark what you want changed straight on the page.
Tell Grok what to change, or leave remarks on the version's page and say you have — it makes the changes and publishes the next version.
Want to look before it goes live? Say so — ask Grok for a draft first and it gives you the draft's own address and waits for your word. The draft keeps that address round after round, so you refresh the page you already have open.
5. Check that it works
Ask Grok to list your Birta projects. If it can see them, the connection is ready and you can ask it to publish or update a site.
