Connect your own domain
Open your site on your own domain, like example.com, instead of the standard project address. The standard address keeps working, and the secure connection sets itself up once the domain is verified.
1. Add the domain
Open your project's Domain section and enter the domain, a root domain like
example.comor a subdomain likeshop.example.com, then connect it. Or ask your agent: it can connect the domain, tell you which record to add, and verify it for you.It shows as Pending verification until it points here. One domain per project, and a domain belongs to one project at a time.
2. Point it here
The Domain section shows the exact record, with a copy button. Add it at your domain provider:
- A root domain (
example.com): an A record pointing to the address Birta shows. - A subdomain (
shop.example.com): a CNAME record pointing to your project's standard Birta address.
If your provider proxies traffic, like Cloudflare's orange cloud, turn that off first. Otherwise the domain resolves to the provider instead of to us, and verification can't confirm it.
- A root domain (
3. Verify
Click Verify. If the record already points here, the domain turns Active, the secure connection sets up on its own, and your site opens on it right away. Your standard project address keeps working too.
Not yet? It stays Pending. DNS can take minutes to hours to spread, so try again later. Verification runs only when you click it.
4. Change or remove it
Click Disconnect to free the domain: your site stops opening on it, and your standard address is unaffected. Connect a different domain, or the same one again later.
